Tri County Internal Medicine is searching for a Front Office Associate to join our independent and growing medical practice in the Buford area. Tri County is the longest established medical practice in the area. Responsibilities Include:

  • Schedule appointments for patients either by phone or in person via electronic scheduling system.
  • Check in patients when they arrive. This includes making sure that each patient fills out the proper paperwork prior to visit and checking patient’s insurance to make sure all the information is up to date.
  • Check out patients when they are ready to leave. This includes taking accurate payments and scheduling a patient’s next visit, if needed.
  • Communicating with patients about scheduling times and any changes that might occur.
  • Ensure that updates (e.g. cancellations and additions) are input daily into master schedule in scheduling system.
  • Communicates as needed with other office staff about any patient concerns/issues.
  • Answer phones and forward calls to appropriate departments accordingly.
  • Use customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
  • Preform other office duties as directed by supervisor and/or department head.

Requirements / Skill Sets:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year or experience in an appointment scheduling position or customer service position, preferably in a medical practice setting.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, including Word, as well as computer literate and able to learn EHR and other computer systems
  • Knowledge of medical practice front office protocols
  • Knowledge of computers and scheduling
  • Knowledge of customer service principles
  • Skilled in communicating effectively with physicians, other office staff, and patients
  • Able to multitask effectively, dealing with phone calls, in-office patients, staff, and other duties
  • Able to stay organized
  • Able to analyze situations and respond appropriately

Commitment: Part-time and Full-time

Compensation: Hourly. Based on experience
